Hello Linsford families,
Thank you to all families who have completed their verification forms. If you have not already done so, please do so asap. This allows us to move forward with publishing photos and is linked to participation for certain types of field trips.
We are looking forward to seeing many of you at our Terry Fox Walk/Run on Friday, September 26 at 1:00 pm. We will do this event on our school grounds, so that no permission forms are required. Please consider sending in a toonie for Terry!
Please consider joining us at our School Council and Parent Fundraiser meetings. Our first meeting of the year is tomorrow, September 22 at 6:00 pm in our music room!

BUS LANE & GUEST PARKING
Please park on the street or in the south parking lot for student drop off/pick up during bus times before school and after school. The bus lane in front of the school may be used for quick drop offs between 8:35 and 2:50 pm only. Please adhere to these times for student safety or we will have to ask you to move. Our busses need to be able to pull into the bus lane in a timely fashion and our crosswalk goes right through our bus lane, so we would like to minimize other traffic during student arrival/dismissal times. We ask all guests to be mindful of these times to keep our children safe!
STAFF LEARNING / RECOGNITION
Congratulations to all staff who are new to Black Gold in the past year! We would like to send out an extra special CONGRATULATIONS to those who have achieved a milestone of 5, 10, 15, or 20 years in Black Gold. You are all so wonderful and we appreciate each of you!
Our staff enjoyed a wonderful day of learning this past Friday, which has helped to set the direction for the year! We also took a few minutes out of our schedule to participate in a Black Gold Tropical themed wellness challenge. Here is a fun collage from the day!
PLAYGROUND FUNDRAISER
Our fundraising group has been working hard to support a new playground at LPS. Our current playgrounds have nearly reached end of life and for safety reasons need to be replaced. We were very fortunate to receive a $100,000 grant from the City of Leduc last year and with other fundraising efforts we are approaching our goal of $150,000. Reaching this goal allows us to apply for a matching grant that will allow us to build our new playground within the next couple of years. This is a large undertaking that requires lots of fundraising, teamwork, and patience. Thank you to all the parents and staff who have contributed to this journey so far. CROSS COUNTRY
A number of students in grade 3-6 have been practicing for a fall cross country run. We are hoping to attend a cross country meet on Thursday, October 2 at Voyageur Park in Devon at 4:00 pm. Students have been practicing at lunch recess. Permission forms will be coming home on Monday, September 22.
